The Pia Fraus „Chromatic Nights EP” consists of the original version of track „Chromatic Nights”, four remixes and an extra track “You Know There Are People Living In The Country”, which is similarily to original track from Pia Fraus’ soon to be released album.
Six-member Pia Fraus was formed in Tallinn in 1998. The creative collaboration of Kohvirecords and Pia Fraus came into being in 2001, when Hendrik „Njuu” Luuk (not to be taken for the Livonian Hendrik the chronicler) and Taavi „Galaktlan” Laatsit produced remixes for their album “Wonder What It`s Like”.
On “Chromatic Nights EP” Galaktlan once again contributes with a track and Pastacas too represents Kohvirecords with his gospel-electronic “Kroom keeled remix”. Scotsman Bill Wells - the soulmate of Pia Fraus - is the author of another track. He is the artist of Domino Records (also Leaf, Creeping Bent, Textile etc) and the mentor of its sublabel Geographic and besides that he has produced some of the Pastels’ music.
The remotest guest on the record is Mondii (artist of such labels as Hefty, Spekk and Plop) whose remix takes the listener to the soundscape of Japanese forests and insects. As the musical and geographical backround of the remixers is so varied, the result is a dynamical and thrilling release.
